Emergency help · websites and email
Website or email down? Call or text me.
A site that will not load, a site showing spam, an expired domain, a mailbox that stopped working or got taken over. Not just for my clients: whoever built your website.
I’ll call or text you back as soon as I can. If I miss your call, leave a voicemail or text.

What to do while you wait.
- Email hacked or sending spam. From another device you trust, change the email password and turn on two-step sign-in. Tell your contacts not to open anything odd that came from you.
- Website down. Check it on your phone with Wi-Fi off, on cell data. Take a screenshot of any error. Don’t change settings or reinstall anything yet.
- Website showing spam or strange pages. If the computer you manage the site from is acting strange, don’t log in from it. Write down when you first noticed it.
- Domain or hosting expired. Look in your email for a renewal notice from the company that holds the domain. Don’t buy a new domain to replace it.
What it costs
What does emergency help cost?
During normal hours it is $110 an hour. Evenings, weekends and emergencies are one and a half times that, $165 an hour. I confirm the cost with you before any work starts.

Questions.
Do you help if you did not build my website?
Yes. This is not just for my clients. Whoever built your website, and whatever it runs on, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, WordPress or Shopify, I will look at it. I may need you to sign in to your hosting or domain account, or invite me as a user.

My email was hacked. What do I do first?
From another device you trust, change the email password and turn on two-step sign-in. Then tell your contacts not to open anything odd that came from you. Call or text me and I will check the account for forwarding rules and other changes the intruder may have left behind.
My website is down. What should I check?
Open it on your phone with Wi-Fi switched off, on cell data, to see if it is down for everyone. Take a screenshot of any error. Check your email for a notice that the domain or hosting expired. Do not change settings while you wait; call or text me.
